With the start of 2021 upon us, I have a new profound love for fitness. Gyms are more or less closed in Boston, the snow is piling up to my kneecaps, and my COVID-19 weight gain is all too real. If you're like me, I am definitely more motivated to get a good workout in if I am dressed for the part! However, with my busy schedule, I am always on-the-run both before and after a workout session making the necessity for my gym attire to be versatile. For that reason, I have put together a few of my favorite winter athleisure items for you!
First and foremost, I love a good matching two-piece set. This one pictured is from Revolve (Top linked here & bottoms linked here), but you can find cheaper alternatives on Amazon. For example, this set here is only $26!
I am also obsessed with Beach Riot's newest Valentine's Day release. Revolve also carries this one in stock- Leggings are $108 & the matching top is $98. A few of my other favorite brands are Gymshark (specifically their Vital Seamless collection- I am a size medium) & Booty by Brabants (a local Boston-based company, but they ship all over the US, in their black Croco-Skin style- one-size fits most).
Once you've picked out your two-piece set, a trendy winter coat is a must have in this Boston weather. However, you should try to pick a style that compliments your workout gear so that you don't look misplaced (i.e. a formal peacoat over leggings is a faux-pas in my book!) One of my favorites is this Nike faux-fur coat (sold at most major retailers, Nike.com, Nordstrom, etc. This one is $175 and can be found here. Sizes can be limited since this coat is in high demand, but it also comes in this gorgeous mint green color (shop that here).
To finish your outfit, I always recommend carrying a scrunchie or two. These help decrease the bumps in your hair from wearing an elastic as an alternative and scrunchies are also better at preventing breakage. Nike carries some branded logo scrunchies, while Nordstrom carries an array of silk scrunchies, velvet ones, and tie-dye prints.
As a pro-tip, I always recommend stocking your gym bag and purse with dry shampoo as well! My go-to brand is always Monat "The Champ" dry shampoo which retails for $34. This brand is vegan, gluten-free, cruelty free, and does not contain any harmful flammable materials that many others do. You can use my personal shopping link at
